Nick Castro
Owner
Nick Castro, a native of Smyrna, DE has been in the construction business for 26 years with a focus on plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical work. Nick has a strong work ethic that is unparalleled and has acquired a wide range of skills through the years that extend to home renovations and restorations. He has developed a reputation of one who has an eye for design and is detail-oriented, for understanding the client’s needs and maintaining open communication throughout the job, providing an honest and reasonable quote, and finishing the job in a timely manner.
In 2021, Nick decided to join forces with his dad, Bob Castro, and venture out with an independent, Veteran-owned, small business construction company. Castros’ General Construction (CGC) has been successful in working with businesses who require commercial and mechanical work as well as with home owners who are looking for home renovations and restorations.
In his personal life, Nick was raised in Smyrna, DE, and his 3 children are products of the Smyrna School District. He has always been a proud supporter of his hometown and enjoys many of the local activities. Nick’s strong work ethic extends into his desire to maintain a healthy lifestyle as he prepares for the outdoor challenges of Obstacle Course Races races throughout the east coast. His constant goals are to stay strong, to make each day better than the one before, and to engage in continual learning and enlightenment.
Bob Castro
Owner
Bob Castro of Smyrna, DE has enjoyed 30 years of experience in the construction rental industry. He began as an outside salesman, transitioned to branch manager, and was then named district sales manager, running one of the top performing districts within United Rentals, Inc. In 2016, Bob was named Mid-Atlantic Region Top District Sales Manager of the Year in great part due to his guiding principles, congenial rapport with the work force and customers alike, and his passion for the sales process.
In 2021, following Bob’s retirement from United Rentals, Inc. in 2020, he joined forces with his son, Nick Castro, and ventured out with an independent, Veteran-owned, small business construction company. Castros’ General Construction (CGC) has been successful in working with businesses who require commercial and mechanical work as well as with homeowners who are looking for home renovations and restorations. Bob has extensive knowledge in understanding the construction industry and in business management.
Bob was born in San Antonio, Texas, and has lived in various states throughout his youth, but he’s called Delaware home for almost 50 years. He arrived at the Dover Air Force Base where he was stationed for 4 years, married his wife, Kathy, and began raising a family. Bob has 2 children and 6 grandchildren who were raised within the Smyrna community and enjoys frequent family gatherings as they all continue to live nearby. While in the Air Force and in subsequent years, Bob gained a reputation as a vocal performer throughout the state, singing in local churches and performing with various groups and stage productions. Bob has participated in various fundraising events, most notably those pertaining to the Smyrna Opera House, and his philanthropy extends to those organizations that support the needs and infrastructure of the local community.
Bob is a member of the local chapter of the Smyrna Rotary, the Delaware Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, and the local chapter of the American Legion. Bob’s years of experience, both work and personal, have confirmed the importance of positive and open communication, honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic. Bob’s on-going goal is to search each day for ways to grow both professionally and spiritually.
